Fuck Equity! Support Blue Man!!

So if you've been reading my blog you know I have a major issue with the Unions telling me what shows I can and cannot see.
What next, I can only watch the TV that has their stamp of approval?

And then they'll tell me that if I want to see theatre I should to drive out to Stradford?

How long before they tell me which music I can fuck to?

Having said that I felt it only natural, since they keep telling me to Boycott The Blue Man Group, to do the exact opposite and Let Blue Man Group know that I support their show and wish them much success here in Toronto. And quite frankly any union, organization, or person(s) that expects me to boycott ART is up a fucken NUT TREE!!

I think it is important to let Blue Man Group know that we artists and Canadians welcome their form of theatre. And that there is plenty of room for both union and non-union shows in our city.
So if you wish to do so I've made it very simple,

More on Blue Man Group

I wanted to also mention that I saw the Blue Man Group in NYC and I thought it was a very cool show. It is what I would call a theatrical experience. There's stuff to make you laugh, and stuff that will have you going WOW.

I Support Blue Man Group in Toronto

I am a member of the actors union in Canada known as ACTRA, they support the Canadian Actors' Equity Association in a boycott of the theatrical experience known as The Blue Man Group.

My union has asked me to boycott this show, because the union wants a portion of the work to go to union members, as The Blue Man Group is a non-union show they don't have to hire union workers.

I am appauled that my union would as me an artist to boycott the work of fellow artists.
The Blue Man Group stands to bring money to local business', will hire Canadian performers, will be an asset to Toronto's alternative theatre experience and will bring tourist dollars into the city. I think it is selfish, and demonstrates how power hungry unions can be; perhaps the union should stop wasting time and money bullying the Blue Man Group and rather focus on getting more successful shows to stay in Toronto and then they can ensure employement of their memebers.

I am a working actor who has been performing on stage in Toronto for the past six years and I believe:

There is plenty of room in Toronto's theatre community for Blue Man.

Karla Homolka in Ontario

I think it is pretty unanimous that no one is happy with this monster being released.
I think she would probably be wise not to return to Ontario. If she does I hope the media will announce to the public where she is living. Once the public is informed I think it will be difficult for her to get on with her life.
